Decorating a Small Kitchen for Fall
Today I want to show you how I decorate my small kitchen for fall.
I love fall and I actually start to enjoy cooking again as soon as the weather turns. There is nothing worse than having a messy, unorganized kitchen when I am in the mood to bake bread and make my favorite Beef Bourguignon in the Instant Pot!
So in order to decorate my small kitchen for fall, I had to go through everything and do a little purging and organization.
Welcome to the Celebrating Fall Blog Hop, and thank you to Leen at Sanddollar Lane for this amazing collaboration of bloggers sharing the most beautiful Fall Home Tours.
Did you see Cindy’s beautiful tour?!?!? I love following Cindy’s Blog! She has such great ideas! She has used the prettiest warm fall color combinations this year!
Small Kitchen Disclaimer
I want to be very transparent about this. My small kitchen is hardly ever picture perfect. I go through it every season and purge and organize and it’s fine for a time, but inevitably it gets crowded again and it’s easier to keep bread and fruit out on the countertop.
So don’t think that your home has to be picture perfect all the time. It’s not possible in my house.
Small Kitchen Solutions
- Hang open shelving and lower cabinets in the dining area if you have space
- Create a separate coffee bar with storage to save space in the kitchen
- Add a pot hanger (even if you don’t hang pots from it)
In my small kitchen, I had a dining area that was kind of wasted space and I knew I could do a small Kitchen Remodel on a Budget I added lower cabinets and hung long open shelves the length of the wall. I wanted the space for function and to be able to have a space to display my decor and vintage finds.
It also serves a dual purpose as my tea and coffee bar. I couldn’t love it more!
I keep my coffee, tea, honey, and electric water kettle there and it saved so much space in the kitchen.
I can fit lots of pumpkins in this space!
This Elegant DIY Copper Pot Hanger is perfect to hang teacups and other things I wanted to hang as well.
Small Kitchen Fall Edition
A lot of my DIYs end up in my kitchen and this year’s additions are so cute!
These leftover florals and picks from Hobby Lobby in this basket give this corner a little extra character. You can see how I made the Easy Wheat and Floral Decor in the amber glass.
I used the Simple Fall Pumpkin Farmhouse Sign to cover the outlet and hide my speaker and dot chords, and I have to incorporate some of my blue and white decor!
These pumpkin mugs are from Dollar General and are the perfect pottery barn dupe!
A few years ago I found these corbels and they are the perfect bookends to my favorite go-to cookbooks!
I use these cookbooks all winter long!
I don’t want to live in a world without vintage brass and copper, and luckily I don’t have to! Adding brass candlesticks and copper pots with wood tones can give your small kitchen such a warm cozy feeling.
I started using this beautiful cutting board that my dad made for me as an oven cover. I use it as my “kitchen is closed” signal. When my kitchen is clean and the dishes are done and I don’t want anyone making a mess. I will report back if it works! LOL
I have two corners in my kitchen and that makes it hard to find interesting ways to decorate. I try to keep it as simple as possible.
Battery-operated, remote-controlled under-cabinet lighting is so helpful when you didn’t have a way to hard wire lights. Also, battery-operated candles are a must for nighttime ambiance!
Bringing in golds, and warm amber colors are accentuated by the wood tones and coppers. I made these arrangements Easy Wheat and Floral Decor For Fall Decorating a few weeks ago and they are so easy and add so much to the look of my fall kitchen!
Here it is looking so cozy! Now, I think I will send everyone on vacation so I can be alone in my clean house for a few days!

Hi Amy – your fall kitchen is beautiful! I too have a small kitchen and know that the struggle is real. You were so smart to create the coffee/tea area. The color is beautiful as well. Thanks for sharing your wonderful fall ideas!
Your kitchen looks so pretty and functional, Amy.
I love all the fall touches you’ve added and I am definitely going to swap the pottery crock I’m using for my utensils with a copper one, it looks great!
Let me know how the cutting board on the stove works out. I think it’s a great idea!
Thanks for joining in on this fun tour. I’m so glad you’re part of it.
Amy, your kitchen looks great. You were able to add in tons of fall touches. I especially like the amber glass. It has a nice dark color that always looks great and definitely works for fall.
Love your fall décor in your kitchen. I am also a fan of copper and blue together, there is just something that says hey, we go together. Those mugs are the most adorable find, I think I will head off to Dollar General to see if they have them in my area. Thank you again for sharing!
Your kitchen looks amazing! I love all of your fall decor. I agree it’s a hard room to keep tidy. I typically do a quick once over in the kitchen before I go to bed.
Amy i’ll bet your coffee bar cabinets are a game changer! Great idea! Love all your cozy little fall vignettes! P.s. we keep a fruit bowl on the counter too, and we actually cook in our kitchen so it’s usually a hot mess 😅
Amy, all your blue dishes grabbed my heart. Mixing in your beautiful copper is so warm and perfect for fall. Love your “mug rack”. So cute and practical. Nice to be joining you on this fun blog hop.
It’s always refreshing to see that other people out there have brown kitchens too! I don’t photograph mine very often, but when it’s clean it’s worth celebrating LOL! Your fall decor could not be more perfect, and the cutting board on the stove idea is brilliant! I love your open shelves too with your blue and white collection. Gorgeous tour!
You had me at the copper and blue dishes! Beautiful way to decorate for fall. Thanks for your inspiration!
I love the idea of placing the cutting board over the cooktop. I need to try that. And that cutting board is absolutely gorgeous so having it out so you can see and appreciate it is awesome. So fun touring together this week. Pinned.
There’s nothing better than a functional space that looks beautiful too! You created the perfect balance of both! Your kitchen is gorgeous!
Amy I just love all your small kitchen ideas! And I couldn’t agree more, I would want to live in a world without brass and copper either! The cutting board your dad made is AMAZING! And I love the idea of using it to let everyone know the kitchen is closed! Thanks so much for sharing, and if I figure out how to keep a kitchen clean I will let you know;)
Amy I loved your touches of Fall in your kitchen ! Your blue tea cups stole my heart…I pinned that picture!
You did an amazing job with a small space! I love your noodle board and those starbucks bottle arrangements! And I had to giggle when I saw the Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook because I love it and have the exact same one! Thank you for sharing!
Hello Amy!! Happy fall! Your kitchen it lovely, it would look good in any season, but it wears autumn very well. How pretty!!
It looks GORGEOUS, Amy!!! I love all of the creative ways that you came up with to create a cozy, welcoming, yet functional kitchen space. I too love using copper accents in my kitchen and I LOVE how you have displayed yours! I’m going to be featuring this post at the Home Imagined link party on Oct 4th!! Happy fall!
I love how you styled your small kitchen for fall. I too have a small kitchen and admit it is like yours not often picture ready but yours looks great. Happy Fall.
I love how you mixed your beautiful copper with blue! Just beautiful!! Happy Fall.
Amy, your kitchen looks warm and welcoming decorated for fall. I can totally relate to it being a difficult room to keep tidy, as everyone tends to drop stuff on the island. It was fun hopping with you. Pinned!
Such a beautiful fall kitchen, Amy! I love the cutting board on the stovetop. What a great way to gain space! Your copper accents are beautiful! Happy Fall, my friend!
On one of your vignettes, you have a round marble piece. I just recently found one just like yours at a thrift store. It looks like it could have been a top to a small side table or plant stand. Would you happen to know what it is? Any help would be appreciated.
Hi Crystal, It is the top of an old side table! I just added it to my countertops!
