The clock is ticking as the New Year’s Eve party rapidly approaches. You’ve got your outfit picked out, but what about the party decorations? Fear not! With this easy DIY wine bottle stopper, you can add a touch of elegance to any party in minutes. All you need is a few simple supplies and some creativity! So, grab your glue gun and let’s get started on your New Year’s Eve party decorations!
The first time I made this New Years’ Eve Ball Drop DIY was on my local Fox14 Morning Show and it was a huge hit! There are a few fun ways I thought of to make it for several other projects, and if you think of any new ideas let me know! Here are a few things to try, you can make it into a “Mirror Ball Trophy” for a dance contest by gluing it on a glass candlestick from the Dollar Tree. Now, it is evolving into a wine stopper for my friend’s New Year’s Eve party. You can also hang it from a chandelier or wreath. The possibilities are endless!

- 3.5 LED Christmas Ball Ornament from Dollar Tree
- 24 Count Plastic Shot Glasses from Dollar Tree (2 packages)
- Ryobi Hot Glue Gun
- Mainstays Cork Bottle Stoppers
- Gold Chain (optional)
How to make diy wine stopper – new year’s eve PARTY DECOR
- Glue Cork Stopper to Ornament
Start by gluing your cork bottle stopper to the opposite end of the ornament as the on/off switch.
- Glue Shot Glasses to Ornament
Next start gluing your shot glasses around the cork in a circle. Leave a little room to make sure the bottle will have clearance.
- Continue Gluing the Glasses
Continue gluing the shot glasses around in a circle and then a new row as close together as possible but not touching.
- Add Chain (optional)
Add gold chain if you want to hang your New Year’s Eve Decoration from a wreath or chandelier.
- Voila!
