Today, we are talking about easy ways to decorate for summer and how to ease into summer decor!
I have a treat for you! There is so much summer decor inspiration this week and I am so excited to have visited all the home tours on the list! Now I want to go and redo everything all over again!
Summer Home Tours
Summer Home Tour time is here and I hope you will tour all of the amazing homes that my friends have!
Thank you to Kelly at The Tattered Pew for hosting this fantastic Blogger’s Best Summer Home Tour!
My friend Jen from Midwest Life and Style has some wonderful Red, White and Blue summer decor ideas, didn’t she? Be sure to check out all of the amazing ideas and inspiration at the bottom of this post!
In full disclosure, I feel like spring has just flown by, and now that summer is here I wasn’t quite ready! I have a love/extreme dislike relationship with Summer. Being hot and sweaty is not as fun for me as it used to be and so I dread the 100-degree days, but I love swimming with Gigi and the 4th of July and back-to-school shopping!
I made the prettiest summer wreath for my front door a few weeks ago, but I brought it inside to put in the living room this week. My reason is irrational, but I am going to tell you anyway!
There was a video on social media where a lady got bit by a snake that was in the wreath on her front door when she went outside. I am traumatized and not sure if I will ever hang a wreath on my door again.
Hi! I am Amy and I don’t like snakes or hot weather. Can we still be friends?
Here is where it ended up! That ceramic dog is named Baron and he is 45 years old.
My mom made him and painted him in a ceramics class when she was pregnant with me! He is my favorite!
Fresh flowers in a punch bowl and two of my favorite books for Inspiration on the coffee table. Complete with my sticky tabs marking my favorite pages!
I looked all over Facebook Marketplace for coffee tables that would be the right size and be able to hide some things as well.
This table is getting a paint makeover soon, but until then it works with my cabinets and wood floor almost perfectly. Don’t ask me what’s in the drawers!
I filled the punch bowl with lemons and water and arranged two bunches of flowers from the groceries store. I love adding fresh flowers all year but the pops of orange and yellow are so sunny and bright!
You might recognize these terra cotta pots I made a few weeks ago. They look perfect with this funky mushroom lamp I made this week!
Adding fun and whimsy to a room is always a good idea and this mushroom lamp is so much fun!
I found blue and white check pillows to match this sweet tablecloth at Lowe’s recently too, so I got an extra one for outside!
Can you believe that I got this outdoor couch and coffee table for FREE on Facebook Marketplace?
I sanded it down and cleaned it up, thinking that would be enough, but now I am thinking of staining it or painting it black. It needs a refresh for sure.
I plan on spending a lot of time out here watching Gigi play and drinking sweet tea!
Gigi and I planted this herb garden with lavender, dill, rosemary, and basil. Then we planted the mint in its own container so that it didn’t take over!
We use our own herbs all year long in our Caprese salad (Gigi’s favorite lunch). We use them every chance we get.
As a matter of fact, this little girl came over and started eating my summer home tour props! She loves lemon and mint!
I hope you enjoyed some of my quirky style and fun finds!
