Apron Hanger DIY
This adorable apron hanger was so easy it’s embarrassing. I had gotten these cabinet doors and drawer fronts from the Habitat for Humanity Restore about a month ago and they were just sitting in my project stack just waiting for this blue and white transfer. Oh my goodness!
You may have gone with me on my shopping trip to Hobby Lobby (I did it live on my Facebook page) to look for the copper hooks that we used.
Seriously? Three items and DONE!
1 Cabinet door + 1 blue and white transfer + 3 copper cabinet knobs = all my hopes and dreams for my DIY decorative apron hanger.
It just doesn’t always end up like this… Perfection!

Blue and White Apron Hanger DIY:
Supply List:
- White Cabinet Door – Mine was a brand new door from a cabinet company donated to my local Habitat for Humanity Restore.
- ReDesign by Prima Transfer – Peaceful Flight Transfer purchased at Rubbish Restyled.
- 3 Copper Cabinet Door Knobs – Mine are from Hobby Lobby.
Instructions:
- Prep your cabinet door
Mine was already pristine white, but most of the time I paint an old door. So you want to clean your surface with Degreaser, wipe clean, then paint with white Pop of Color paint.
- Choose your transfer
I found this beautiful blue and white transfer on my friend Kimberly’s website. She has so many pretty ones. I chose the blue for the blue and white motif that I am going with in my kitchen.

Place the clear carrier sheet on top. You can cut up your transfer in sections to make it easier to place on your surface. You can reposition your transfer if you do it before you start to rub it off.
- Start rubbing
Once I have my transfer exactly where I want it. I use the stick that comes with the transfer and I press really firmly. Start to lift your carrier sheet slowly to make sure you are getting the transfer successfully on to your surface and keep rubbing over the carrier sheet. Continue to lift slowly and remove the carrier sheet and Voila!
- Add Knobs or hoods
I added copper cabinet knobs that I got at Hobby Lobby.
I used E6000 glue and placed them evenly spaced at the bottom of the door.
