I chose a matte black paint finish for my foyer because matte black paint is informal.
I want the first impression of my home to be warm and welcoming. Come in and make yourself at home. We aren’t fancy here. Well sometimes we are fancy but we aren’t formal!
Gloss black paint is more glamorous than flat black.
Black goes with everything. Any style, any other colors, any accent colors, any architectural style.
It’s a dark neutral.
It’s enveloping but not claustrophobic. Like a hug when you walk through my front door.
Black paint is a classic.
