The Best White Cabinet Paint Colors
The best white paint color for kitchen cabinets is…
Well, there is more than one option and I am going to share my 8 favorite white cabinet paint colors with you today because painting your cabinets white is not as easy as it may seem!
There are so many shades of white and undertones that go along with each choice of white paint. Painting your kitchen cabinets white is a big undertaking without the hassle of which white paint to pick so let me tell you my eight favorites and hopefully, this will make painting your kitchen cabinets white a little easier.
Did you know I am a cabinet painter by trade? I am sure I have mentioned it a time or two on the blog. When I first started painting kitchen cabinets back in 2013 the color everyone wanted was cream. glazed with antiquing. I glazed thousands of kitchen cabinet doors. Thousands. I loved it too.

Then a few years in, white took over and occasionally grey. It was the grey wall revolution that happened a few years ago and as a true-blooded, thrifting, antiquing, glazing, distressing, gold-framed oil painting, Jane Austen reading lover that I am, I was so out of my element in a modern world. I am so glad to report that I found a way to merge the two worlds and be happy painting straight white cabinets with my favorite white paint colors, and also that vintage is coming back along with the color beige!
Best White Paint Color For Kitchen Cabinets
#1 Sherwin Williams Creamy
Oh, this one is top of my list, and it is exactly what the name says- creamy. Not white, not yellow. It’s the perfect not white white!
#2 Sherwin Williams Extra White
It’s crisp. It’s clean. It’s ummmm, extra white. It’s the perfect bright white.
#3 Sherwin Williams Alabaster
Alabaster for me is multi-functional. I love it on cabinets but also on walls and furniture. It’s warm and smooth and just like the marble statues in Jane Austen’s books, it’s rich and grounded! I love it!
#4 Sherwin Williams Casablanca
My entire house is painted in Casablanca except for two rooms so I better love it right? Casablanca can come across with a yellow undertone in some spaces so test it first in your space but if you want a warm creamy white then Casablanca is it!
#5 Sherwin Williams Herron Plume
Want a little grey undertone in your white paint? Herron Plume is the perfect color for grey spaces. It also pairs amazingly with black glaze. I promise you it is my magic secret so sssshhhhhhh don’t tell anyone!
#6 Sherwin Williams High Reflective White
The white of all whites. It doesn’t get whiter. Zero undertones, zero pigments, bright, highly reflective! LOL This is for the ultra-modern, ultra-clean, ultra-white look.
The ColorSnap app from Sherwin Williams is a paint color tool I use constantly. It makes finding colors so much easier!
#7 Joanna Gaines Magnolia Paint Line in Soft Linen
Soft linen by Magnolia is my current go-to soft beige/white color. If your favorite things lean beige/brown/warm/fall then you need soft linen in your paint closet. I painted my fireplace with soft linen and I love the slight contrast with the creaminess of the wall color! You can see how I did that here!
#8 Joanna Gaines Magnolia in Shiplap
This is one that pairs well with greys and whites. It has the feel of an aged white and softened by time!
I love every color in the Magnolia Paint line, and the New Magnolia Castle Collection is superb. There isn’t one I wouldn’t use. They are soft and calming. I am a woman of few words but her line makes me want to shout from the rooftops if that tells you anything! LOL

I love them all and your living room makeover is amazing!!!!!
Some of my all time favorite whites are on your list. I love a great white. Hugs to you, my friend.
I think they’re classics for sure! Hugs to you too, my friend!
White is so tricky with the undertones. My cabinets are white and my creamy white table looks dirty with the gray tones on the wall and stark whit cabinets. I do have grey glaze on the inset of the cabinet doors. So I am about to paint my table in a cooler tone.
People just buy paint sometimes without putting samples on the walls. The lights in the house and natural lights from the window can change the color in the room so much.
Just love paint!
It’s definitely something that needs looking at! Your home is so beautiful! I can’t wait to see your table!!!
