Step-by-Step Tutorial: Creating a Unique Necklace from an Old Sweater
Lately, I’ve been so inspired to elevate my everyday style with pieces that feel truly unique and personal. I wanted something custom, something that no one else would have, that would add a textural, interesting touch to my favorite basics. And then it hit me—what if I could wear this sweater as jewelry?

The Transformation: Embarassingly Easy
So, I got to work! I carefully cut the rolled hem from the sweater. It was such a satisfying process, transforming this cozy sweater into a whole new accessory. Now, I have this incredibly special fiber necklace that adds just the right amount of cozy elegance to my outfits. It’s a conversation starter and a wearable memory all in one. I think that’s my favorite kind of style—the kind with a story.
My Style Philosophy: Comfort Meets Polish
A few years ago, I started trying to improve my style and dress a little more elevated, but I am not a fancy person. I don’t wear much makeup, and I like to be comfortable, but I still wanted to look polished and put together. I started thrifting and buying some new pieces in natural materials like linen and cotton.
The Final Touch: Layering & Personal Flair
This year, I want to invest in a cashmere sweater and pashmina to add to my (kindof) casual wardrobe. This statement necklace is hopefully going to elevate my more casual style with this touch of uniqueness.
I added a long pearl and silver necklace, and green velvet ribbon tied in a bow to layer it with some of my favorite things and give it my personal flair. I love it! Now, I can change the color of the ribbon depending on my outfit.
