I have had so many questions and encouragement about building a barndominium! Also, I thought more people would have heard of them!
I met with a realtor this week and I had a few jaw dropping moments with her. Some good and some not great!
The good news is that the market in my area is still strong and my house will probably sell quickly. The not-so-great news is it isn’t as big as expected. Not by me but there were several conflicting records of the square feet and we had hoped upon measuring for the highest but it fell short. I wasn’t surprised as I thought I knew pretty well but held out hope it was bigger! Definitely not the end of the road though as it’s in a great location!
I also hit the ground running to get some plans lined up with local builders. Building a Barnominium in a new way is giving the men fits. LOL, They look at me like I have a third eyeball on my forehead!
My ideas are going to take the right builder with imagination and faith in me! So I am on the hunt.
So, I went to my sources in the construction business and got names and numbers and today and Monday I will be scheduling meetings and calls to explain myself and hope someone speaks “Amy”!
My guys were hopeful and helpful. I was so thankful I cultivated relationships in the design and construction world in my area over the last 10 years! It has always helped my clients and now is helping me!
My husband is still on the fence but the fence is moving so…
