Chateau Chic Journal Vol 2
Welcome to the Chateau Chic Journal!
Once upon a time, in a land far far away, a girl named Amy lived in a small home of her own.
She dreamed of living in a home that looked like it sprung out of her favorite magazine, so she painted and sewed and hung beautiful art but there was something missing!
What could it be?
A hot pink front door?
Yes, Yes that’s it!
Would her husband approve?
But it would be such a paint to paint because of all of the windows. No wait, there’s something she can do!
It is done!
Ps. There are a few more projects to be done but they are in the queue!
The Before. It’s the only picture I snapped before I started so this is embarrassing. I was using the entry to hang things I didn’t know where to put—not decorated or styled. It was just so depressing so I started thinking about what I really wanted.
I wanted my entry to make a statement when people walk in the front door so I decided to go bold and do a Roman Clay Faux Finish in Black, and this week I took the plunge against my husband’s wishes (I jest but he wasn’t sure about it for sure) and I painted the front door HOT PINK.
It’s literally a color called Drama Queen. I don’t think I qualify as a drama queen in real life but my front door does now! Wow!
I will get the space styled and ready for her reveal next week but here is a sneak peek!
Aren’t first coats always scary?!?!? I was questioning my own judgment at this point.
I used this Masking gel to save me from taping the windows.
I made a reel on IG to show how it works.

I was so happy to see your email in my inbox!! Thank you for sharing my little project with your readers!!
I was just thinking about you when I was pulling weeds…I realized I hadn’t talked to you all week!!
Oh my goodness! You are such a great writer. I love how you started your post. So much fun. I can’t wait to see your front door.
You go girl!! I can’t wait to see the reveal. I am super curious about the masking gel. Two of my doors have small windows, too. Thanks for sharing, Amy!!
Amy, I just love you. That hot pink door is amazing and goes perfect. I am enjoying seeing the transformation.
I still dream of chateau in the country side every time you come around one of those for sale. If only money was not issue.
My dream is a pink door in the French Countryside! Love you too!
