The Sweetest Season: A Spring Home Tour
It’s actually snowing here as I write this. But that’s okay. The pops of yellow I’ve sprinkled through the kitchen and living room, the fresh green of my fern wreath on the door, and my little tea station all remind me that spring is coming, whether the weather agrees or not.
I hope this tour gives you a few ideas for your own home — small changes, collected pieces, and a corner that feels peaceful.
I’m joining in with 18 other ladies this week for a virtual spring home tour, and I’m so glad you’re here. I think you are going to love my friends’ homes!
We’re all sharing little ideas for freshening up our homes this season — nothing overwhelming, just simple touches that make a space feel ready for spring. For me, that meant finally tackling a corner of my kitchen I’ve been wanting to give some attention to.

A Little Corner Just for Tea
The biggest change in my kitchen this spring is a corner I’ve been planning for months. I found this vintage walnut dresser on Facebook Marketplace a while back and knew it would be perfect for a tea station. It’s solid, has great bones, and the drawers are ideal for stashing all the things I need for a good cup.
Behind it, I finally hung French blue grasscloth wallpaper. The texture and color are everything I hoped for — soft, calm, and the perfect backdrop for the little collection I’ve been building.
Above the dresser, I put together a collage of art and finally found a home for my copper mold collection. I’ve been gathering these for years — a lobster, two fish, a cornucopia, and a fruit basket — waiting for just the right spot. They look like they were made for this wall.
On top of the dresser, I have my ice maker and my hot water kettle ready to go. The top drawers hold my coffee and tea supplies, so everything I need is right at hand.
What I love most is how this corner works with the rest of the room. The blue grasscloth picks up the colors in my Anthropologie mural on the other side of the kitchen, where I keep my Blue Willow dishes and always have a candle burning. It all feels connected, like the room was meant to be this way.

My Morning Tea Ritual
I’ve been drinking Savoy Tea Company’s Black Apricot nonstop lately. I steep about a tablespoon for five minutes — just enough time to tidy the dishes or wipe down the counters — then add a little brown sugar.
Then I sit at my table with my tea, put on some jazz, and watch the birds, and the occasional squirrel, at the feeder. It’s a small ritual, but it starts my day on the right note.

A Kitchen I’m Still in Love With
I remodeled this kitchen last year, and I have to say — I’m still just as excited about it as the day it was finished. My marble top dining table is probably my favorite thing in the whole house. It’s where I sit every morning, tea in hand, watching the birds come and go from the acrylic bird feeder I have on the window.

The Front Porch: A Work in Progress (Like Most of Us)
I’ll be honest with you — my front porch is not spring-ready yet. The snow is still melting, the temperatures haven’t quite caught up to the calendar, and my grand plans are still just plans.
But I have a vision, and I don’t mind sharing it even if it’s not finished yet.
This spring, I’m hoping to:
- Paint my shutters a soft sage green — something calm that blends with the ferns and feels right for the cottage look I love
- Strip and stain my front door from its current black back to a warm walnut wood tone. I’ve been missing the natural wood lately, and I think it will feel so much warmer and more inviting
- Add a flower planter under the front window
- Plant zinnias in the flower bed — they’re my favorite for cutting and bringing inside all summer long because they’re easy!
- Give the whole porch a good cleaning once the weather finally cooperates
For now, my fern wreath is doing all the heavy lifting. It’s hanging on the door, looking fresh and green, reminding me every time I come home that spring will get here eventually. It’s a little promise of what’s to come.
And honestly? That’s enough for me today.

The Living Room: Cozy, Collected, and Just a Little Moody
If the kitchen is the heart of my home, the living room is its favorite sweater — comfortable, familiar, and exactly what you want to curl up in.
The vibe in here is cozy, collected, calm, and maybe a little moody. It’s the kind of room that feels just as good on a rainy afternoon as it does on a bright spring morning.

The Sofa That Found Me
Let’s start with the piece I’m probably most proud of: my denim sofa. I found it at the best estate sale I’ve ever been to, and it was one of those moments where you just know. It’s got that classic Ralph Lauren feel — sturdy, relaxed, like it’s been around forever and plans to stay forever. I love it more every single day.
For spring, I swapped out the pillows. The leather and fur are resting for the season, and in their place I’ve added green velvet and a little leopard. It’s just the right mix of soft and unexpected.

Small Shifts, Big Difference
Behind the sofa, I have a sofa table where I like to play with little vignettes. I rearranged it recently — nothing major, just a fresh edit of things I love — and it already feels like new.
On the wall, I’m adding a new piece to my museum-style gallery wall: a painting of green pears in an ornate gold frame. It’s going to hang against the dark maroon painted wall with green ribbon trim, and I think it will be just the pop of color that wall needs.

Light and Views
One of my favorite things about this room is how it changes with the seasons. In spring and summer, the sunlight pours in and everything feels brighter and lighter. I spend a lot of time just sitting on the sofa, looking into the kitchen. I know that sounds funny, but after remodeling it last year, I still can’t get over how much I love that view.

The Scent of Home
I have a new candle that I’ll be offering soon — my very own signature scent. It’s pear and freesia, and it is just amazing. I believe every home should have a signature scent, something that greets you the moment you walk in and makes the space feel like yours. This one is going to be it for me.
I would love to hear from you if you would like to pre-order your candle!

A Little Note About Thrifting
Everything in my home is thrifted. I honestly can’t remember the last time I bought new furniture. My favorite things — the sofa, the dresser in my tea station, the frames on my walls, even most of my clothes — came from estate sales, flea markets, and Facebook Marketplace.
Lately, I’ve been having so much fun upcycling men’s dress shirts. I’ve started adding little ruffles to the collars, and it’s become my favorite creative outlet. It’s the same thrill as finding a good furniture piece — taking something overlooked and giving it new life.
What’s Coming Next
I have a couple of projects brewing that I’m excited to share. One is for that kitchen window. I picked up two semi-circle canvases for $10 each and I’m planning to turn them into a custom cornice. I’ll be sharing that tutorial soon, so if that sounds like something you’d want to see, check back!

The other is a little repair project with a creative twist. I found an ottoman on Facebook Marketplace, but when I got it home I noticed a corner where the owner’s dog had done some damage. Instead of hiding it, I’m going to try a patchwork technique using some gorgeous fabric I found at a little shop called Nell Hills in Kansas City. I’m excited to see how it turns out.

What an absolutely charming corner! Your classic “Golden Girls” lobster mould made me smile. Thank you so much for hosting such a lovely tour.
LOL I forgot about that! I was so excited about finding a lobster! It’s one of my favorites! Thank you for stopping by!
Amy – I love the tea corner! I’m sure you feel the same way about it as I do about my new coffee station. I also 😍 the wreath on your front door. You have to tell me where you got it!

Happy Spring, Amy! What a charming spring home. I had to giggle when I read about you making ruffled shirts. I’m so taken with them, too, and hope to make a few for spring! You certainly have an eye for beautifully collected furniture. I need a few lessons from you. I have been looking for months for a white pine buffet, with no luck. I love your walnut dresser and your blue sofa. What finds! I’ve learned a lot about you just by visiting your lovely, unique home! 🌸
Oh my goodness, I adore your blue and white collection and the extra cozy tea corner! And I’ve never seen such a dark squirrel. It’s so cute and fat! Ours here in TX are a light brownish, reddish color. Still cute though. I love that they can come for a little snack. Your home is gorgeous and I hope you have a wonderful spring. Thank you for getting us all together.
Where do I start? Your home is gorgeous, Amy! I love your tea corner and am adopting your tea ritual. I didn’t know you were a fellow jazz lover! And, yes, I would love to pre-order your candle. Pear is one of my favorite scents. And “paired” with freesia…I’m in! Thank you for a fantastic tour! (One of these days, we need to get together when I head south!)
Amy, your home is beautiful. Wish I had space for a cozy tea nook somewhere other than my home office. Does that count? LOL. I love all of your touches.
Amy ~ your remodeling efforts are paying off bigtime! Everything looks so cohesive and gorgeous ~ like I just stepped into a European chateau. I think some of the smallest touches are my favorites: the mural backdrop, the table vignette with copper mold and the bunnies, the delft flower frog, and that ribbon trim on your molding is chef’s kiss! I cannot wait to see what you do next with the canvas window idea and the ottoman diy, as well as get my hands on your new candle scent, pear and freesia ~ which sounds amazing, by the way. Thank you for sharing your gorgeous home and ideas. This spring blog hop was fun to do with you my friend! Happy Spring!
Amy, your home looks fantastic! you have worked so hard ot create a warm and cozy space for your family. I love the kitchen and the blue couch you found is so pretty against your burgundy gallery wall. I can’t wait to see your new painting.
