Simple Fourth of July Ideas; Summer Home Tour 2022
My Friends and I are sharing our Best 4th of July decorations and summer decorations in our Bloggers’ Best Summer Home Tours! This group of ladies are talented and I always get sooooo many decorating ideas when I look at their inspiring posts! I hope you’ll visit them all so I have linked them ALL at the bottom of this post. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
Thank you to Kelly from The Tattered Pew for hosting this amazing Summer Home Tour event and letting me be a part of it!
If you made it here from Stacy at Bricks and Blooms, isn’t her new outdoor living space amazing? I follow her on Instagram too and her new home is being transformed so beautifully and her garden advice is awesome!
4th of July Decorations
Last week I shared this 4th of July Home Decor Ideas Using Fabric Scraps pillow. It is probably my favorite 4th of July decoration ever!
Summer Back Porch Decor
Our family spends a lot of time outside in the backyard all summer. This year I anticipate many hours on the back porch.
Gigi and I paint and play on the back porch. It’s where we have the most fun!
My How to Make a Citronella Candle for Summer idea is working better than I expected it to. This candle is keeping the mosquitoes away when we are out there and the citronella smell is not overwhelming.
This table is set for a family-style get together. The kind in which we get our food and fill our plates inside the house and everything else is set on the table that we need.
Certainly, some of my favorite 15 Summer Dinner Salads are perfect for this kind of party!
The flags and metal buckets are from the Dollar Tree.
The placemats and napkins are from Hobby Lobby.
The Flag scarf “table runner” I have had for many years and I still wear it every summer as a vest!
The rest of the items are part of my vintage collection.
In honor of the new Top Gun, Maverick movie I made airplanes out of napkins! I have 2 sons so I have made paper airplanes a million times and just couldn’t resist this opportunity to add them here!
This fun cake stand is a charger and a candlestick glued together with E6000! Both are from Hobby Lobby.
I have one more secret on this table! My candles wouldn’t stand up as they were a little small for my candlestick, so I used Frog Tape folded backward (sticky side out) and pushed the candle down over it! Voila. Worked like a charm!
Backyard Walkway to The she shed
A couple of years ago I made this European Inspired DIY Garden Walkway from the back porch to my She Shed and it still looks so good!
I had some weeds growing up in a few places recently so I made a DIY Weed Killer and knocked em out, and it looks as good as new. (White Vinegar, Water, and Epsom salt, mix and pour on weeds)
I am so thankful that you stopped by my blog today! You are welcome here anytime!
My friend Renae always has some wonderful ideas to share so I can’t wait to see her Summer Home Tour! She lives in Oregon and I live in Missouri and I always love to see her beautiful views that are so different from my own!

Amy,
I loved your patriotic table and those airplane napkins was such a cute idea.
I love your patriotic table Amy! Those napkins are so pretty! I need them!
Amy,
I just loved all these darling 4th of July ideas you shared -pinned!
Thanks for the great inspiration always.
xoxo,
Brendt
Such beautiful patriotic decor! I love the mix of dinnerware you used in your tablescape and all the pretty red, white, and blue fabrics.
Hi Amy, your patriotic place settings are so charming, and I LOVE your sweet pillows! Pinned! It’s a pleasure to tour your lovely home again. Blessings, Cecilia @My Thrift Store Addiction
Amy so many lovely ideas my friend. Your back porch is just the cutest. Thank you for joining me this week!
Amy, I love all of the patriotic touches you added to your porch. So pretty and perfect for summer! And your scrap fabric pillow is so darn adorable. So glad to be on the tour with you this week. Pinned!
Love your patriotic table setting, friend! That pillow is sooo cute! Glad to be hopping with you. Happy Summer, Amy!!
Amy, you always have such great projects from candles to pillows, etc. I love all of your inspirations. Those napkins into airplanes? Really? You are the best! Love it! I also love your cute pillow. I made a pillow for the 4th too but it is not half as cute as your pillow. Those red printed napkins…love them….need them!
Hi Amy!! Can you come do my weeds next??? Everything looks ready for the 4th…I’ll be right over with my sparklers!!
Amy, your touches of RWB in your outdoor space are so fun! My grandson would love your napkins, as he (and I) are spending hours these days making paper airplanes!
Amy, I love your folded jet napkins and your 4th of July tablescape! Reminds me of our summer celebrations when I was growing up! Happy Summer!
You are so talented, my friend. Your tablescape is so pretty! So many great ideas. So fun hopping with you. Hugs to you.
Your pillow is so adorable. Love your patriotic table. So many pretty pieces. Happy to be touring with you.
Your table looks so festive and I love all of the vintage pieces. When I have candles that are to small, I heat up and melt a teeny bit of the bottom and poke it in the candlestick. Works perfectly and it all pops right out when I need to put them away. And wowza, that walkway is gorgeous. I’ve not seen one like that and love it! Thanks for all the inspo. Fun to be hopping with you this week. Happy Summer!
Your patriotic touches are so beautiful Amy. My favorite is that adorable pillow. So glad to be touring with you this week.
Your DIY pillow is so cute! And love the creative napkin folding; that movie was so good! We totally do the same with our summer eating-have everything inside and then carry our plates outside on the deck or patio. Love summer al fresco dining!
Yes! I like to leave the food inside! I haven’t seen the new one yet but I hope to this week!
Love your patriotic table and all of the creative ideas, Amy! The napkin airplanes for Top Gun and the 4th of July cake plate are so fun. Happy to be on the tour with you and have a wonderful summer!!
Such a beautiful post!!! I love all the patriotic touches!!! Everything looks soooo cute!!!
